What a plot. And I love movies that have this dark feeling and a plot about an evil little rubber creature who wreaks havoc on people.
The whole plot is an '80s horror movie plot. Complete with a party hotline. So the creature is going to make his life more exciting and of course he's also going to create problems in the guy's life.
This subgenre started in the '80s with movies like gremlins, ghoulies, and puppet master. Also the decade with the most of these movies is the '80s. I love these movies because I love the rubber creatures in them.

I love these movies because I love the rubber creatures in them.
You probably have a bookcase full of rubber creatures in your bedroom so you can hide under the covers and pretend you are afraid they will attack and kill you.
