If you see this move on HBO GO, save yourself the time and skip it.
The only reason I can think of for HBO showing this movie is that it stars one of their Game of Thrones actresses.
Others have filled in the details why, but overall it was just a less than mediocre movie.

Universal Studios has a 10 year exclusivity contact with HBO.
We have HBO Nordic here i the Scandinavian countries, but they have no exclusive contract with Universal.
That account goes to Viasat, who is currently airing it on Viasat Film Premiere and streaming it on Viaplay.

Then you clearly have no idea how movie studios and premium channels work. All major movie studios sign contracts with the premium channels (HBO/Cinemax, Stars/Encore, Showtime). In this case, Universal Studios has a 10 year exclusivity contact with HBO. The Forest was produced by Gramercy which is an off-shoot of Focus, which is owned by Universal. How good or bad a movie is plays no factor hereif Universal bought the rights for a video of me taking a dump, you can view it on HBO/HBOGo.
