I'm reading
Forest of the Damned
by Lee Mountford. It's about a group of paranormal researchers investigating the forest where scary **** happen, basically. It's almost like Blair Witch Project stuff.

No, no. That one is gay. We ****ed under the bed every night. My roommate mentioned she heard bed was shaking almost every night and she didn't see any guys going into my room. Well……
I'm going to have tell her one day.
Of course, sometimes the hand reaches under the cover just to give me a handjob in my sleep.

Sometimes, after reading many books, good guys winning all the time would be a bit cliché but in this book, bad guys win. So it's a welcoming change, I guess.
Also, the morale in this book is that if you become a paranormal researcher or ghost catcher, expect some ghosts/demons who will drag you to hell. It's funny that in many other ghost novels, there would be some exorcists who will save everyone or some people or any time before something bad happen, but the difference in this book is
that all the victims are killed and one is possessed without getting exorcised.
Tragic.

After skipping reading for a few days, I finially finished reading the novel and the ending was predictable, just like any horror movies/books.
Basically,
everyone dies, especially Roberta who would eternally be possessed by the evil witch and the final survivor of the team dies by being sent to hell to watch his daughter die over and over again. That's the end. It's a ****ed up novel, but enjoyable, nevertheless. It's a tragic novel, though.

I did read somewhere that whoever watches horror movies and sleep okay is a psychopath. Does this mean I have some sort of deranged psychopaths lying dormant inside either of us?
On the other note, I remember I took horror movies seriously when I was a kid. Hell, when I watched The Ring (the English remake, not the original one) with Naomi Watts when I was 12 years old, I didn't sleep well for a few nights because of that quick shot of the disturbing corpse found in the closet (that quick flashback) and when I try to sleep, I keep imagining the corpse just sit in my closet, looking at me with that white glinting eyes with mouth ajar. Of course, when I got older, I looked back at it and I laughed.

Same. Doesn't bother me a bit.
I can watch gory movies and eat, I can read horror or graphic novels before bed, and sleep fine (unless I'm in a patch of chronic insomnia which is not related), and while I can definitely watch scary stuff on youtube or something before bed, the past two years have changed and I now watch old comedy before I nod off.
Even Final Destination films showed all these "what-ifs" scenes if something bad happen to you, even though they tend to be over exaggerated.
