We are going to hell.
I have long maintained that the Harry Potter series is bad for kids and have always been surprised when Christian parents defended the books. It is bad for children to see a "hero" such as Harry Potter using the powers of evil and witchcraft to solve his problems.
Now we are faced with an even bigger problem: Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
I have had many discussions with parents who allowed their children to explore this dark world. I can understand people who don't know the Bible letting their kids get involved. They think of the Harry Potter stories innocent fantasies. But Christians who understand God's condemnation of witchcraft, which is prominent throughout the Bible, should know better.
In Wizards Unite, material from various pagan religions (including the Druids), witchcraft, Satanism, and dozens of spells and incantations are used. It should be obvious to anyone who views the books objectively that they are designed to make the evil religion of witchcraft acceptable to young, impressionable children.
By packaging this indoctrination in a humorous, kid-oriented, colorful package, a Satanic message that evil is good has been delivered to over half the children in the United States. That's right. According to a US Consumer Research survey over half of American children between the ages of six and seventeen have read at least one Harry Potter book. Many have read all the books, which are between 300 and 700 pages long. And Wizards Unite is already proving to be popular, one day after its release.
My daughter will never read one, or see any of the movies, or play any Harry Potter game, including Wizards Unite, because I love her.
The premise is that heroes are witches of "white magic" who fight the evil forces of "black magic." This is ludicrous. Anyone who practices witchcraft, which involves manipulating and controlling others through the use of incantations and spells, is evil. Plain and simple
People who support Harry Potter say that witchcraft is nonsense, and therefore these books are just innocent fun. But witchcraft is real, and its source is Satan, the father of all evil. If witchcraft does not exist, then God is mistaken. This is just one of many verses in the Bible where He condemns witchcraft (along with astrology and other "innocent" variations of witchcraft):
"When you enter the land…do not imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord." Deuteronomy 18:9-12a.
Modern-day practitioners of witchcraft (sometimes call Wicca) are often compulsively promiscuous and abuse drugs. These people are desperate, depressed, and often suicidal. They should not be held up as role models for young children. Unfortunately, Harry Potter is being introduced to children in kindergarten and in the early grade school years. Wizards Unite is normalizing it even further.
Many previously deceived Christians are finally starting to see the light. I discovered hundreds of posts in chatrooms from parents and grandparents who had encouraged their kids to read the books. They have repented and have removed the books from their children's libraries. They say they are trying to undo the damage they have done to the children by their exposure to them.
By the way, Warner Brothers, Mattel, Coca-Cola, Niantic and Scholastic. have all been financial backers of this malignant series. You might want to think about think about that the next time you open your wallet to purchase any of their products or services. All of these companies are guilty of promoting the harmful influence of Harry Potter, but Niantic is proving to be the worst offender.
Reading Bible-based material is banned in American schools, the religion of witchcraft, repackaged through Harry Potter, is being given a powerful position through which to influence our children's minds and spirits.

Yeah, it must have been a real hardship on those kids, not being allowed to worship false idols, practicing sorcery and whatnot, the criminal activity that goes along with such nonsense, and growing up to be able to maintain stable, healthy relationships with their partner. Their parents are real fiends, doing their job as parents and all instead of allowing their kids to do whatever they want.
I had a friend who wanted to read the books and watch the movies so bad but her parents wouldn't let her so she had to sneak to do it. They ended up finding out and busted her ass for it. They were crazy when it came to that ****, she wasn't even allowed watching Hocus Pocus!

Donna, you're ignorant if you think any Christians are gonna read that and stop their children from reading Harry Potter. There are already Bible-beating fundies who condemn Harry Potter. The Christians who have heard this million times and just ignore it as extremist nonsense will just keep on ignoring it.
No seriously. I know Christians that consider reading Harry Potter a sin and do not allow their children to read it. They also don't celebrate Halloween either. The "sinners" who attend church are another story altogether because they aren't fully Christians yet. I'm technically still considered a "sinner". I'll watch a Harry Potter movie. I've watched all of them so far.

I think you’re playing a bit of devil’s advocate here. Yes media has influence and we would all be naive to think it doesn’t. The bottom line is , it’s not the media’s responsibility to protect the sensibilities of your kids.
The only people responsible for teaching children morals are their parents.
Of course, and I don't want media dumbed down to the level of a child. Yes, teach your children morals but don't let them turn on a movie after you're done and contradict everything you just told them. This stuff is not rocket science.
If your kids are looking up to movies and the people in them for guidance that is a problem and the fault of the parents. You should be their heroes and teach them who the real heroes are out in the world. Your question has nothing to do with religion. It is a people thing no matter what God we do or don't believe in.
It depends upon the age of the child. You don't allow impressionable children to be indoctrinated into ideas which are opposed to the values you're teaching them. Once you have given them a firm basis on ethics, when they're a teenager, they're free to explore. But if I was a Christian no way would I let a 10-year-old think sorcery is fun and fine when the Bible says sorcerers should be put to death. Do you not see the glaring contradiction? Stand for something for chrissakes.
