The
LA
version has been using the irritating nerd guy and the little girl with super powers for field work for a short amount of time. Now
NO
is using their nerd for field work, and he's off to FLETC to become an agent. He froze in the field already, so they double down and put him back, only to have him kidnapped?
This is really dumb stuff.

didn't see your reply, thanks darkavenger77, good info, I was just glad they didn't get rid of her, I really like Gregorio, but it seems as though I'm in the minority here, you know what they say, different strokes for dif well, you know, lol

BTW, I could be mistaken, wish I didn't delete the ep before this one, but, I thought that when Gregorio asked pride for a job in his restaurant he handed her a badge and said her FBI boss pulled some strings with the DOD and got her a job there, but now she's an NCIS agent, did I miss something?
That sounds about right. TV cops routinely "transfer" very easily. I recall on one of the
Rush Hour
films how Carter (LAPD) had an "FBI badge waiting" for him. In reality, you resign from one agency and are hired by another. While
NCIS: LA
is generally a farce, one thing it does get correct is Deeks as an LAPD detective being assigned as a liaison. That actually does happen in real life, although usually as part of a multi-agency task force.
In the case of the FBI vs NCIS, one is under the Department of Justice while the other is under the Department of the Navy, so while both are federal, it's not an "in-house" transfer.
Additionally, agencies have budgets and it can be difficult to get a new position assigned to a field office.

Sebastian is excellent for sitting at a computer and assisting that way. He has zero business in the field.
I absolutely agree, that episode proved that he was awful in the field and a genius behind the computer, I doubt very much if the writers are actually going to make him a field agent, I think they just wanted to give him a part in the show,

The instructor was watching while Sebastian was instructing Pride on how to save that ship, I don't think he knew what Sebastian was capable of and he was truly surprised and impressed and knew that he had saved lives including an NCIS agent, therefor gave him a pass, if not, secnav would have gotten involved somehow.
Sebastian is excellent for sitting at a computer and assisting that way. He has
zero
business in the field. He does not need to be a sworn agent- and what they showed at FLETC backs that up. Getting your team killed during training when you stop to answer your phone was just one of many reasons why he would have been washed out. Realistically as well, since he's not a protected class member (minority or female), the chance of this happening would be even greater.
Gregorio, wouldn't she already have the training being an FBI agent? or does she still have to go through it again?
I'd think the FBI academy would be a higher standard than FLETC, but every agency has it's own rules and procedures. The crossover police academies I saw at the state level for already certified officers were months long, not a weekend.

The FLETC stuff was just ridiculous.
Can't make it up the rope? You fail. You're out.
Argue with the instructor? You fail. You're out.
Keep using your phone after being told not to? You're out.
He violated several of the infractions listed in the FLETC student guide:
https://www.fletc.gov/sites/default/files/Glynco Student Handbook 27Mar15.pdf
Page 11:
13. Intentionally or willfully failing to follow instructions.
14. Disrespect, defiance or belligerence directed at an instructor, staff member or other student
23. Being tardy, late, or absent from training without permission.
Then there was Gregorio. Somehow I doubt you can take one weekend of training and cross over from the FBI.

Maybe they're using FLET-C as an excuse to get Sebastian off the show for a while, similar to what they did with Gerald on NCIS, because he wasn't a good fit on the show.
