This is not about which NCIS is best but rather the vastly differing set ups. NCIS is set in a massive government building with state of the art technology. LA are super secretive and not allowed to tell anyone where they work. NO looks like they are working in someone's garage and like the original and unlike LA anyone can come and go and know exactly who they are and what they do. I know it's TV but still. You would think in real life all the NCIS agencies would be pretty much run the same way

would have made much more sense to have it in san clemente, oceanside, or san diego since thats where there is a beep ton of military personnel. ive lived in manhattan beach and san clemente. the only military is ever saw north of orange county was air force yrs ago when there used to be a small air force base near LAX dont think its there any more but not for sure.

Back when NO started, someone posted that there really is some small out of the way NCIS office in NO. I don't like the LA series. I would watch it if it was set in San Diego which has a bigger Navy/Marines presence.

I don't know but I'd love to see him in NCIS. Castle + Deeks = comedy gold

I assume that NCIS: LA is supposed to be a special unit of NCIS but then I don't remember them ever interacting with the regular branch of NCIS in that area.
We might need to watch the pilot to get an answer. I remember them explaining why they operate out of a (supposedly) abandoned building. Their explanation is, so no one knows who or what they are.
I knew from the beginning that the show is not going to be logical, since there are so many people working in that one building, the locals for sure would know the building is not abandoned.
I think that NCIS: LA is somewhat comparable to the first NCIS in the manner of comparing CSI: Miami to the first CSI. NCIS: LA and CSI: Miami are more dramatic than the original, so I don't like them.
The question is, which one is Nathan Fillion's favorite? Which one would he most want to be on?

You would think in real life all the NCIS agencies would be pretty much run the same way
I'd imagine in real life they probably are.
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service (2003)
is the most accurate/realistic of them IMO.
NCIS: Los Angeles (2009)
IMO should be renamed
Homeland Security
since they rarely do anything with the USN/USMC. I have fun with it every week on the message board.
NCIS: New Orleans (2014)
is a mix between the two. If
Scott Bakula
was not on it I likely would not watch it. Since Coates/Meri (
Zoe McLellan
) left I think it is not as good as it was.
Ignoring politics doesn't mean politics will ignore you.
