Firstly OR and Officers, especially male to female are not that familiar with each other. It's just not good writing.
Secondly the medics helmet is about 6 sizes too big for her it looks bloody ridiculous.
Unless the writers actually spend some time with real officers and soldiers this show will tank. It's a shame because the ramc is awesome and not represented enough in the media.

OK, my wife likes this due to the drama aspect, but there are numerous technical discrepancies that bug me. Bell Iroquoi helicopters (yank), over familiarity between officers and ORs, the medic suddenly at the centre of operations and briegings etc. But more annoying is the lead character's bish, bosh, bish aright geezer, never shut up carry on. And a lot of contrived scenes. Want to like this, but something erks me.

The relationship between the medic and the officer is not even based loosely on reality.
For those who never served. If an officer got caught in a relationship with an OR that will be the end of his career in an instant. The OR will likely be posted away from the unit too, in a very prompt manner.
It's not realistic and I find it intensely annoying for that reason.
As for freezing at the first sight of blood, that's normal. A new medic won't see much trauma until they go on tour. It's only the SF medics that get placements in trama rolls here in the UK.

What a pile of badly written codswallop and extremely bad acting this pile of tripe is!
Hankcock~up boy are you wrong.
There needs to be some realism at least.
This has non zero not a slightest bit!
How this got commissioned is a total mystery IT'S RUBBISH!

armed forces don't make up the majority of the audience and the 2 things you listed are a bit nitpicky, likely not a dealbreaker for the average viewer. i'd not be comfortable predicting cancellation so far.

I watched the first series of Our Girl which I found to be great, which is why I was excited for the new series. I love the series I find it engaging and enjoyable veiwing. Molly did actually undergo medical training as that was where she was going to after she graduated boot camp

I really enjoyed episode one (and I will continue with the rest of the series) but I did find it a little strange that we saw her undergo zero medical training. I even watched the 10 minute recap (which I believe was a condensed version of the film?) and that didn't show her having any medical training either. It seems like she went from nail beautician to doctor in a matter of seconds.
The acting and tension is great though and I'm quite impressed by the scope of the show so far.

I'm really enjoying it too. Sure it may not be all that realistic, but it's a good story and Molly is adorable.

Glad I'm not the only one who is thoroughly enjoying this as all the comments I've seen have been quite negative towards it. I personally can't wait for the next episode and a bit gutted that I've got to wait a week!!

I'm thoroughly enjoying this. No, I doubt it's 100% accurate, but so what? I would expect detailed accuracy from a documentary. In a drama I enjoy a good story and good acting, both of which I think 'Our Girl' has. I'm perfectly happy to allow the writer a little dramatic licence.

Erm I'm pretty sure you missed the fact that this a drama, yes it's meant to be somewhat realistic, but surely you can understand why they added the whole love triangle thing??? I for one would find it too much if it was all doom and gloom all the time!
I think the whole triangle thing is nicely done, you can actually see that Captain James is trying to maintain a professional relationship with Molly even though he is failing miserably. I'm pretty sure the writers would have done some research before they wrote this as I hear they had real Army soldiers on hand to tutor the actors, they wouldn't do that if they were taking this seriously.

I found her freezing at the first sight of injurys a bit too contrived. Surely, she's had some training and has to know, to some degree what to expect to see.
Freeze because initially no place in the team as yetbut follow instructions quickly and panic later.
Mal,they are starting to damage my calm!
