Why this movie is getting hate?
Its not about the movie. Its about people obsessing to be smart and intellect.
Since they dont have the capability to create something, they have the need to bash any random movies or other form of art only to prove that they are smart and intellect.

The people who hate it are people who were raised by the internet and not by their parents. They download these movies then come on IMDB thinking they are some sort of "respectable" critic we should all listen to. There is no way that all of these "haters" are paying actual money to watch these movies.

I think people these days expect so much that they can't be satisfied or they are so narrow-minded that they can't get the concept of a movie being made that other people like more than they do. It happens with movies and TV shows.
To me, the movie had some flaws, wasn't as scary as I wanted it to be, but I enjoyed the performances and the premise enough to call it good. But this, like all movies, isn't made for everyone\ or for every mood.

A bunch of 80s and 90s films blended horror and comedy. These two genres go really well together.

People went to see this expecting a two-dimensional horror flick and were disappointed when it turned out to be a traditional Christmas morality tale (like A Christmas Carol). The whiners that said it was boring and didn't have enough chainsaw gore completely missed the point.

I chortled.

to me little rare monkey like animals secretly exisiting is a lot more believable than a supernatural hooved anti santa clause monster from another dimension freezing over a town with magical evil gingerbread men and toy monsters and then trapping their souls in a a snow globe with a grandma who only speak english when it suits her.. the film didnt work .

I love Gremlins, but the effects are really starting to show

Because it just wasnt that good ? Did you ever think about that lol, come be real it's miles inferior to gremlins and e like. the story was too ridiculous.

It was neither good comedy or good horror.. the movie fell flat in every respect except for the practical effects which were great. The only reason i kept watching it.

An adult comedy krampus film that was actually funny like the directors Trick R treat film would have been great.

To the OP. People are not obliged to like a movie simply because you do. From reading your post you seem to be of the opinion that anyone who doesn't share your opinion/taste in films is an idiot or has something wrong with them, which is pretty arrogant and the height of narcissism.

It's called the vocal minority. The movie has been well received by most critics and audiences.

It's coming from people who simply hate on horror (imdb doesn't seem to like horror at all) and idiots crying about no R rating.like they couldn't look up the damn rating before going to the theater.

How can you write such things if you didn't see it and there were some pretty good horror movies.

I haven't even see it and I hate it. Predictable, Lame and cheesy add to that poor acting, effects, etc. You got yourself a blockbuster "B" flick. Come on, did you really expect anything else? There will never be another Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Exorcist, etc. The only thing you can expect now is cheap thrills and that's why horror is practically off my radar. While the mainstream "everything is awesome" crowd is entrenched in cheap remakes and crappy wannabes, I'm watching the original classics.

i enjoyed it. will watch again, a bit of laughter horror. i don't understand why it was pulled out of theaters, in my city, i had to travel within my metro area to see it. it had disappeared from theater houses near my home.

From the trailer alone, that made it out to look like it was trying to go for laughs and scares. You can do that by the way, i'm not sure why a film counts as stupid just because it tries to do both. This flick does an ok job of doing it, not as good as Evil Dead 2 or anything which is like the height of combining both but not as bad as I was expecting either.

I just don't think Christmas and Halloween go good together, they're exact opposites.
This is a very simplistic view of those holidays. Halloween is more than just horror movies and Christmas is more than just cheesy Santa movies. Like others have said, there are tons of dark elements to Christmas.
Winter can be a spooky time of the year, especially in snowy regions like those that celebrate Krampusnacht. Daytime is very limited, its cold and dreary out, its a dangerous time of the year for those limited on food or shelter, etc

Christmas has always had a long list of scary legends that are somewhat horrific. It has nothing to do with Halloween at all. Look up the Yule cat. It was known to eat people who were lazy. There is also Frau Perchta, a Christmas witch who would punish the sinful. She was known to rip out a persons internal organs and replace them with straw or pebbles.
None of these legends, including Krampus, have anything to do with the holiday of Halloween. These are ancient Christmas legends that date back to a time before Hallmark greeting cards and the modernization of the American version of Christmas. Some of these traditions are still celebrated today. Krampusnacht continues to be very popular in parts of Europe.
You would not run into Krampus on Halloween because he is part of the legend of St. Nicholas. While St. Nicholas gives gifts Krampus punishes the bad children. Ever hear of getting coal in your stocking for being bad? That is a direct refernce to these stories.
