The quality standards and general competencies of production companies hired to put together TV shows have gotten MUCH worse over the years. People become lazier, there's no accountability, and the higher-ups at the network who should be overseeing this and looking at each episode carefully for QC are too distracted to catch major errors like this. It's why I rarely watch TV anymore, especially the poor editing and embarassing ADR flubs of reality TV.

What actually happened in this Pittsburgh murder case is creepier than what they showed in the episode. Roy Kirk is the name of the murderer. Ann Hoover was the kind woman he killed next door. The address is 321 Lawn Street of you want to look up the case information.

Ditto! It was so weird. I mean, if they're going to use fake names, fine, use fake names and put them in quotes, but don't mix REAL names in quotes with FAKE names in quotes. It doesn't make sense.

It was weird, too, because they used a combination of fake names and real names, but weren't consistent about it. For example, "Becky's" friends were shown with their names in quotes, indicating fake names, but they ALSO showed "Cyril" in quotes, which should've indicated that it was a fake namebut it was for Dr Cyril Wecht, who is VERY well known. Just strange.
