Does anyone else wonder if Dad's quest to find the man with which his wife cheated on him is more than just curiousity?
If it's not something more, why have this sideline storyline keep coming up week after week? It can't be just to give somebody as important as Egan something to do?
It occurred to me that a great twist ending this series would be Cassie and Sunny solving the crime.
Then Cassie comes home to find out her dad has either committed serious GBH on this guy he's found OR worsehe's committed manslaughter in some kind of drunken attack.
This show is smart and kind of sophisticated as these shows go.
So it might be the ultimate exercise in irony that the great Cassie with all her smarts and detective instincts did not notice her own dad under her roof plotting some of revenge attack on this guy from his out of control grief and unresovled anger?
The ultimate irony indeed! The signs are therethe stalking, she's seen the train tickets. And she's questioned him "so what will you do if you find him?"
And dad has been totally evasive and refused to answer.
Maybe because the answer is: "Kill him." Or "beat him to a pulp." (!!)
Dad being hauled away by coppers from home in the last scene would be a great twist ending to show she was a great detective but totally missed what was going on under her nose.
The latter fits with the theme of all these people she's been investigating having partners, spouses and family not knowing what they were doing right under their noses or who they were.
Now, we could see Cassie become one of THEM if her dad has committed some awful crime, when she just didn't see what he was hiding from her.
He's been returned home disheveled, confused and intoxicated alreadymaybe he's done the deed already but it's only going to come to light in the finale?

I just finished series two. As the end credits appeared, my immediate thought was, "Please can they come back next week to start a new case?" Sigh.

I doubt it.
The writer isn't known for leaving us with cliffhangers at the end of the series, so I think that this may be setting up a plotline for season 3, which I really hope happens.
