Is this movie set in the future? There are lots of weird things in it like the strange clothes, the degenerate atrocious "art", the futuristic gadgets and sets, etc

"Degenerate atrocious art" has been with us since the 1920s.
"degenerate art" is not actually a "category" of art, it's a defamatory term applied to some modern art by ignorant people who don't understand the basic premise of art, the term was popularized by the Nazis.
As such, it says a lot about the people who are using this kind of terminology, they are either historically ignorant, just ignorant in general or trying to be edgy like 12 year old trolls who say stupid stuff like "Hitler did nothing wrong" to rile up people.

"Degenerate atrocious art" has been with us since the 1920s. Likewise with "strange clothes".
What about the muscle car and vintage Merc? Perhaps it was set in the 70s?
