The warden just bringing someone who he THOUGHT was a smuggler to see the Demogorgan.
Like what the actual ****? I can only deduce that they planned to kill Yuri before he left the prison, because why let him witness that **** and then leave to tell anybody who will listen? It makes no ****ing sense in this super realistic show.
