None at all. The ones in the series already ruined the series to begin with awful music that ruined anything 'scary' or engrossing in the story

I'd like to hear Scorpions, but getting a song in may be difficult with their manager.
Def Leppard?
Photograph
would have worked just fine.
Considering the kids tastes, maybe some Cheap Trick, Utopia, or Night Ranger.

Maybe licensing fees were higher for acts like Def Leppard, Pat Benatar, and Van Halen, as opposed to Toto, Modern English, and Corey Hart?
You might be right. Didn't think of that.

I thought they should have added some Def Leppard, Pat Benatar, and Van Halen. That's what the kids were actually listening to in 83. I guess the writer really loved the Clash and made sure to get mentions in for Television and bands like that.

actually eyes without a face was released in november 1983 when the show takes place
but the single for it came in 1984

Call Me was released in 1980. Doctor! Doctor! and Eyes Without a Face were released in 1984.
Two of the OP's suggested songs were released in 1986 or later so, yeah, I took a few slight liberties, too.

This was set in 83, so a lot of popular 80's songs were not released yet.

Lyrically, The Pretenders' cover of "I Go To Sleep" works well for Mike missing Eleven.
Sound-wise for the show, I'd love to hear "Drive" by The Cars in pretty much any capacity.
