Could be any eighties song considering they used ones which hadn't even been released yet in the first season, example; Hazy Shade of Winter by The Bangles played at the end of ep. 2. That song didn't get released until 1987. So like I said, pretty much any song from the eighties is fair game.

It'd be hard to feel 1984 without at least one Duran Duran song, but they might not have the budget for it. Someone's gotta be into the pop stuff, right? Van Halen? Prince? Police?
Something by Siouxsie "Dear Prudence" maybe, but that might be too typical.
The Cure - "Caterpillar"
Romeo Void - "A Girl in Trouble"
The Cult - "Spiritwalker"
Maybe some Black Flag "Salt on a Slug?"
Something early REM?

If they're going authentic 1984 then Pearly Dewdrops' Drop by the Cocteau Twins
But really Gabriel's version of Heroes was years out so there's no telling what they'll put in there.
