Couldn't they have found someone not only handsomer (Townsend was very handsome) but also the appropriate age? Peter Townsend was only 16 years older than Margaret, not 26 years. Ben Miles is already over 50, whereas Peter Townsend was only 41 when Margaret turned 25. And Ben Miles is not particularly handsome, either. The bad casting makes it hard to understand her attraction to him and why the public was so enthusiastic over the romance. It is all the more the shame because Vanessa Kirby is so convincing as the beautiful, vivacious Margaret.
