Halfway through but there is not one boring scene in this show. The cinematography is spectacular. All dramatic scenes are compelling. And despite being rich and royal; most characters are likable and easily invested in. So much so that's its hard to not check real facts to find some of the outcomes. One of the richest dramas my wife and I have ever seen and unlike some recent, incredibly overated shows this one deserves every praise hurled it's way and the high rating on this board. Already looking forward to S2. Recommended on the highest level.

Agreed. Inspired writing and character/relationship development. Classy and absorbing. Educational - but without ever feeling like homework.
And then if you want to talk about cinematography and sets and costumes > off-the-charts.
As a guy whose favorite series' are The Wire and Deadwood and The Sopranos, I did not anticipate The Crown as maybe completing my Mount Rushmore.
But it's possible.
Gotta keep it up for more than 1 season though - so we'll see.

I agree. Glad to see it is winning several awards. The writing and performances (even in the smaller parts) are fantastic.

Better than even Downton Abby, which consentrated more on manners and wardrobe than plot. Not that I didn't enjoy the heck out of that.
