That's so John-Boy Walton, but without the narration. Yawn, it's been done to death.

You're right it would be ridiculous and tick off a lot of fans but it also makes a lot of sense. Rory is too perfect, which is a clear sign she's a bit fake as a character and Lorelei has always been more of a friend to her than mother. I hope it's not really true, but at the end of the last show Lorelei did recommend she change the name of her book from 'the gilmore girls' to just 'gilmore girls' which hints that the tv show is nothing more than the book playing out.

That would be a ridiculous retcon and would really tick off a lot of fans. But then, ASP doesn't give a rat's behind about the fans.
That kind of retcon would be akin to the series Dallas bringing a dead character back by later "explaining" that everything that occurred during the previous 2 seasons was actually another character's dream.

It's a wierd theory, but it is a possibility. They did make some good points.
