The video is only a few minutes long but its an interesting theory that the show is not entirely accurate and Seasons 1-7 are how Rory wished they had gone or how they went but she made everything better, hence Gilmore Girls the book. It also states that what happens in the new show is how things really are. Rory and Lorelei arent that close or at least as close as the show makes it out to be. Rory isnt as smart as she thinks she is, is horrible at relationships and not that close to her father, etc. It does make sense in a way, there have been a lot of times people have questioned things that happen throughout the show. How is Rory the Valedictorian when she was failing high school at first? How is it she always gets the guy no matter how badly she ruins things? Did Logan really propose or does she just wish he did?

That's so John-Boy Walton, but without the narration. Yawn, it's been done to death.

You're right it would be ridiculous and tick off a lot of fans but it also makes a lot of sense. Rory is too perfect, which is a clear sign she's a bit fake as a character and Lorelei has always been more of a friend to her than mother. I hope it's not really true, but at the end of the last show Lorelei did recommend she change the name of her book from 'the gilmore girls' to just 'gilmore girls' which hints that the tv show is nothing more than the book playing out.

That would be a ridiculous retcon and would really tick off a lot of fans. But then, ASP doesn't give a rat's behind about the fans.
That kind of retcon would be akin to the series Dallas bringing a dead character back by later "explaining" that everything that occurred during the previous 2 seasons was actually another character's dream.
