Logan, why would they have him cheating on some superfluous fiance? It doesn't make much sense unless they wanted to cast him in a bad light (like they did before their original break-ups) so that people didn't want them to end up together and have her be a single mother or be with someone else. Otherwise I think they would have just had them in a casual thing and the pregnancy would finally get them to become committed.
The kid has to be his, right?
Whatever happens, I hope she doesn't end up with Jess. It still amazes me how many fans liked that annoying douchebag.
Did they say how they are going to wrap this up, like a Christmas special or another miniseries next year?

I disagree, and I actually think that we will see more of Jess if they continue this and that he won't be nearly as bad as Logan.
I mean give him a break, he had a rough childhood in which no body basically cared for him so his relationship with Rory being something different from what he was used to was too much for him at the time. Of course he didn't handle it well, he didn't know how to, but he really changed and grew up. And his chemistry with Rory was what keeps team Jess leading and she didn't have that with any of the other 2 guys (maybe even because Milo and Alexis were actually dating so you could see the affection on screen).
All in all, Jess is the new Luke if you ask me;)

Again, because they had Jess suddenly appear for like two scenes and have him encourage Rory to go back to Yale. And in the revival, they had him appear in two scenes that made him look good, whereas they wrote Logan poorly for the reason I speculated on.
If Jess was around more, I believe we would see a lot more of his old character.

annoying douchebag of Jess? I'm sorry if you haven't noticed, but whenever she was going the wrong way, Jess was the one to guide her to the right path. Remember dropping out of Yale? It was Jess who told her wth was she doing and got her thinking. And here it was him who suggested her to write a book and turned the things around for her.
Logan on the other hand treats her like dirt, he has a fiancee and sleeps around with her when he can. The kid is definitely his, but if they continue this then I see Logan - Rory relationship more like Christopher - Lorelai.
Seeing the Jess' pinning glance at Rory reminded me of Luke pinning for Lorelai, so seems to me we are going to see the old show all over again just with different people:
Rory > Lorelai
Jess > Luke
Logan > Christopher
Dean > Max?
Just an impression

Yeah, in his early appearances, he definitely had some smartass vibes. Like, "look, I've read that book and now I know more than you do." I felt he grew up later and found the right balance between book-world and real-world. It might have helped that we didn't see him very often. Who knows, my impression of him might be different had we seen more storylines with him.

See, I've always believed Jess was a pseudo-intellectual more than anything, not actually smart, but a guy who thinks because he reads some books and quotes some writers that he's intelligent.
Rory always had much better banter with Logan in the original series, who was certainly her intellectual equal despite the fact that he was rich and a lot more fun than Rory. Logan always got her book references and was certainly very smart. Dean is the one who they made seem dumb after S1.

Hehe, gotcha. I find Milo quite interesting in "This is us" to be honest. Maybe it's just the way his character is written there vs. Jess here. But either way, the main reason why I preferred him over Logan was that he gets Rory on an intellectual level, and at least in the original show, this seemed to be what her character is all about. A naive dreamer glued to her books and all that. But now with revival-Rory, I'm not so sure about that anymore. It's probably better for Jess not to be stuck with her. But I still think Logan is a bad influence.

I agree, they basically wrote Logan as having regressed to his original character in season 5 without any reference to his rejected proposal and their relationship. Who even knows how long they have been seeing each other.
Since he originally left the show, Jess has gotten far better treatment because it's been so sparse. When I say it amazes me how people like that relationship, it's because the whole time that they were actually in a relationship, Jess treated Rory like absolute beep Since then he just seems like a dilettante to me, even though he's not as big a prick because he's not a main character.
I admit I'm biased because I find Milo V to be a dry lunch and a very poor actor.

Logan is a douche and used to seem "beneath" Rory, but she was written terribly in the revival and played stiffly by Bledel. I mean, she freakin went to Yale! The connections she made there would almost guarantee her success. So she ends up loving and losing a guy who is basically her dad: a blandsome rich guy from a wealthy family who has commitment issues. Plus, she also ends up a single mom, like her mom. Maybe Lorelai IS the daughter of the gardener like rumors suggested, which would explain why Rory is a hot mess.

Not to start a war here, but just curious: If Jess is an annoying douchebag, which attributes would you use to describe Logan's constant infidelity and his submission into his family's plans for him, and his notorious showing-off of his family's money and connections?

I don't want them together, but Jess was one of the more likable characters in the revival. He outgrew his immature ways, unlike Logan who was regressed back to being a cheating playboy and doing LaDB antics.
