Well of course, modern franchise movies are made by corporate hacks who were raised on MTV, with no talent for storytelling or myth-making.

i found 3 and 4, not great, but watchable. they were silly, but made sense.
a writer sometimes will write his theme on a note and place it somewhere in view while he's writing.
now i just picture some kid typing "subvert expectations" in a chatgpt prompt.

I get it.
Supes 2 gets a lot of praise for being one of the best sequels ever made.
They get silly after that but I actually don't mind and find them watchable.
I thought the one with the nukes was a good message and a creative new super villain.

the first 2 with reeve seemed more genuine to me, if that makes any sense.
after that, they seem like they were written, produced and directed by people who had little experience in the world.
like star wars, the later movies may have been more acceptable if the first 2 never existed in those franchises.

Only one I care for is the orig. with Reeve.
The new ones are never as good for some reason.
