I watched this movie when I was a kid before 1988. It must have been older than that.
The hero was an oriental character, powerful and handsome and honest like Sinbad or any other hero figure.
His lover was kidnapped.
He had a fellow friend who is funny. He was like the prince figure in Zauberflute opera of Mozart and his friend was like a funny witty character like Papageno.
There was also a villain character who kidnapped his lover.
At the finale of the movie he had to procede through a maze valley where every creature tried to decieve him one last time before finding the princess, but he mustn't look. He even encounters his princess(not the real one) but tries not to be deceived. Unfortunately he can't finish the task and fell into trap.
His friend who is not so serious, and couldn't be deceived accomplishes the task and save them all.
What is the name of this movie.?
Come on dear friends This has been a lovely dear board where I have found the whereabouts of many titles from my childhood.

It sounds a lot like The Magic Sword, but there isn't a comic sidekick.
