If they work well for sound but not light, you could always try a sleep mask. They have a gajillion to choose from on Amazon. I bought a pair a couple months ago. I'd love to recommend them but I still haven't tried them. It just seemed like a grownup thing to do even though I could sleep on a beach in Miami at high noon.

Another neat thing about these curtains is that they have a second backing which further blocks out sunlight, keeping it nice and dark for my vampyre eyes! As it is, I do all I can to keep my room as dark as possible.

I'm not a mother, but I wouldn't even do that to a friend. I give gifts to friends all the time, just because I want to. But sheesh, really, your own kid, you're going to charged for curtains you're going to throw away anyway? Seriously?
