Despite being sober for four months I am drinking coffee for its intoxicating affect. Does that put me in the wrong for 'abstaining' from several drinks that are good for you? Sometimes I crave beer, and settle my craving with a cafe latte or cappuchino.
I have taken a break from things and then come back to them with renewed thinking. I once took a break from television for four years, and now I really like all the programs that are on Freeview, in particular the Food Network where professional chefs show you how to cook various meals. And I like non-fiction docu-dramas like the Forensic Detectives and the FBI Files.
So I am wondering if my 'abstaining' from alchol is actually a long rest from it. Perhaps I can go back to drinking beer once per week.

I have just had my three pints and they were very nice. I was tempted to get some more but I resisted it. That will do me for a night and a day.

I wouldn't recommend it Ir
The dopamine and serotonin levels in the brain get pushed around through various stimuli and alcohol is one of them. As you only have to concern yourself with 30% of your condition the being drunk aspect and the hangover associated with it part might alter your ability to control yourself.
Not a big problem for people generally but you've mentioned brandishing weapons in public before and so I'd say it's probably best if you don't. For your own safety as well as that of others
