It is, but when you feel useless your mind is clouded to useful solutions.
Feeling useful is one of the most important things in life.
Also having a "fight" is very good.
Thinking, "I am going to get out of this no matter WHAT!" is a great way to feel useful even when you are objectively in a bad place.

Yes, being useless leads to depression, which is why so many people who post here are depressed. I don't have to be a doctor or even know what the **** I am talking about to know this is a fact. It's basically common sense.

You don't need to take them harshly because there's nothing that makes a person get energy than being needed somewhere.
That has even been shown to be the NUMBER ONE healing factor in drug addiction recovery. If the person knows something important is going on and they are needed they will give up drugs to do that.

It's because you are depressed. Your depression is caused by the fact that you're a thirtysomething year old who has avoided life by trying to live the life of a teenager and never grow up. If you got off your ass and did something with your life, like literally anything, you would start to feel better about yourself. Even a job at Burger King, which is the only job you are qualified for, would help tremendously. Try it, you may just like it.
Even if you don't, free unlimited cheeseburgers await you. Can't beat that offer.
