I saw IF/THEN recently and thought that LaChanze's character Kate was the most memorable character in the play. She was IMHO as worthy of a Tony nomination as Idina Menzel. Kate's character is well developed with witty dialogue and LaChanze makes the most of what she is given. She's a scene stealer nearly every time she stepped on the stage.
