Unlikely there'll be any more.
Most people now truly understood that there's nothing more that can be done.

Full Moon shines for the Humpback Whale
The situation for the humpback whale off the island of Poel remains serious.
The water level of the Baltic Sea is very low.
He's now extremely weak. Heartbreaking sounds from him were heard several times.
Edit to add:
Police hold back Onlookers
Although police established a strict 500-meter exclusion zone, onlookers still gathered in front of the barrier on the beach of the small island on Wednesday evening. Many residents and tourists wanted to see the whale one last time. Their gaze was fixed on the mirror-like, calm Baltic Sea. The humpback's silhouette was visible on the horizon, and occasionally a spout of water rose into the evening sky.
Is this news or April Fools' Day?
Suddenly, the humpback whale in the Baltic Sea is the subject of discussion:
Processing, whale meat and a dubious offer from Japan.
The humpback whale is still alive. Nevertheless, a Japanese company already advertises his use.
The humpback whale sighted in the Baltic Sea for several days [
more than a week
] is causing a stir, not only among marine conservationists. According to information from industry sources, an unusual disposal plan is already under consideration should the lost animal die. A Japanese specialist slaughterhouse called
Hokatoro Marine Cuts Ltd.
reportedly offered to recover, butcher and process the carcass at its own expense.
Humpback Whale Meat could be a Delicacy
According to the company, the meat could be processed into a traditional delicacy called
"Kujira no Shunko"
(クジラの春光) – a supposedly particularly tender, lightly smoked whale specialty with fermented seaweed seasoning.
The company reportedly indicated that it has
"decades of experience in the holistic utilization of marine mammals"
and sees the humpback whale as
"a rare raw material opportunity"
. Observers view the offer as a tasteless provocation. Authorities and conservation organizations haven't yet commented.
One thing is certain: The humpback is still alive, and experts continue to hope that the whale will find his way back to deeper waters on its own.
How to make "Kujira no Shunko" at Home
The trade in whale meat is prohibited in the EU due to strict species protection. But this dish can easily be recreated using beef, tuna or swordfish. If you don't have tuna fillets or swordfish available, king oyster mushrooms are a good alternative.
Note:
This is, of course, an April Fool's joke.
That's the 3rd
'stranding'.
People, that's not
stranding
anymore, the humpback wants to die.
There are some Live Streams on YT, easy to find.
Yah, it was
'secretly'
discussed how to
humanely
euthanize him.
Unfortunately, no one (worldwide) knows exactly how.
Some years ago, it was tried on another whale, who died a horrible death over two days.

Yah, it doesn't look good for the young humpback.
The coast guard and water police cordoned off a large area around him (too many onlookers).
Besides many people with night-vision equipment in the low dunes, there were also some praying for him and bringing flowers, despite the unpleasant rain.
It wasn't explicitly stated, but most understand that he should be left alone and die peacefully.
Officially the rescue will continue at sunrise.
The following is just a phantasy, due to Wolf's Hour:
They wanted to bring the whale back to the North Sea via DK (Skagerak).
Others already suggested helicopters with nets…or Star Trek
"Scotty, Energy!"
Humpback's Way via Skagerak
about 500-700 km (map from the last NDR article)
In his current condition the humpback wouldn't be able to make that way.
What they didn't show in the map above, is the
Nord-Ostsee-Kanal
(Kiel Canal).
Humpback's Way via Kiel Canal
about 200-300 km
Since they failed to guide him to the North Sea with boats and ships, we need a better solution.
Hey, there are 2 trained orcas in France who are bored to death!
https://www.filmboards.com/board/p/22906753/permalink/#p22906753
Just let the two swim over to the Baltic Sea, they're fast and will be happy about a new task.
Stop all ships in the Kiel canal. –> Problem solved!

The Humpback Whale's outer Skin peels off in Shreds
Many people are very worried: How is the whale doing now after all the ordeal?
Thilo Maack (marine biologist with Greenpeace), gave an update to the Tagesschau news:
"The whale's condition remains unchanged. When he was stranded on a sandbank in Lübeck/Niendorf,
we saw that his skin was in really bad shape. The outer layer of skin is peeling off in large patches.
The underlayer is visible."
The whale currently vocalizes.
"He's very distressed and on a sandbank again. Fortunately, it's deeper than the one in Niendorf, so we hope he can swim free on his own."
https://www.bild.de/regional/ostsee/live-ticker-die-grosse-wal-rettung-vom-timmendorfer-strand-69c25182ffcdb2ce7075be7e
March 28, 2026 17:13
Herr Maack, you know very well yourself that the humpack won't free himself again.
In Lübeck/Niendorf the excavators helped him. Now the young humpback is in Wismar and still has a rope in his throat, which was impossible to remove, although they were able to cut off the rest of the fishing net the whale was entangled in. And he's still in the Baltic Sea, where the low salt concentration continues to destroy his skin.
So, as sad as it is…that was it.
Let him die in peace.
