Younger women do report more depression and lower self esteem but that doesn't translate into more antidepressant usage.

I'm kind of shocked it's the older women with the highest use. I would think it was the young white women using all the antidepressants cuz theyre always whining about all of their mental health problems.

Nobody is quite sure. Menopause is a possibility. A lot more men would probably be using them than there currently are if they didn't shoot themselves instead. Of course antidepressants don't actually work so they would end up shooting themselves anyway.
