A glaring sense of entitlement brought on by decades of coaching at smaller communities and being king of his particular hill; no one dared challenge him and everyone had to kiss his ass, creating a "My **** doesn't stink" mentality. All those years of conditioning gave him the impression that he could treat anyone like crap with impunity.
Look at Dan Campbell, another coach stuck with a team devoid of talent; his players play their asses off for him and it's probably only a slight exaggeration to say they'd take a bullet for him. That's because Campbell isn't treating them like dirt, throwing his assistants under the bus or acting like he's God's gift to mankind and we should be on our knees performing fellatio on him.

He kicked one of their kickers in the leg which is just foolish. If he injured the kicker he would have sued the franchise. They were right to fire him.

Coaching college kids is just way different than coaching grown adults. You have to show more respect to adults since you are on a similar level if you want their trust. He didn't do that.
