yeah. my sentiments exactly. this is pretty much how i'm starting to feel about football in general. maybe it's having a kid now and not wanting my weekend to revolve around football or maybe i'm also kind of at peak saturation with the sport or maybe it's that you could not think of a more boring storyline to think of for college and pro football than yet another season of bama and new England dominance.
but yeah for me, it's really just morphed in to an excuse to have friends and family over and make tons of great food and drinks.
whether permitting, we usually have like an alternative thing going on too when we have football parties. like a bonfire. seems like more and more this season I found myself just hanging out the bonfire and drinking with friends while others hung out inside and watched the games.

Leftover fare from my annual Mardi Gras party that will go down the night beforepizza, chips and dips, crock-pot BBQ meatballs/sausages, my "party platter" which consists of ritz crackers, sliced pepperoni, beef summer sausage and cheese slices, boneless chicken wings, Knob Creek bourbon, Abita beer. The game is of little interest to me but if we have the food then it may as well be put to good use, and the Super Bowl is good a reason as any to party one last time for football season.

I have a bunch of smoked turkey that I made and we were thinking about making homemade turkey pot pies. along with the typical game snacks and such for whatever guests we gave.
