As far as top down RPG's for PC go it is number one. It was an open world RPG before that was even a thing. There are no set classes, just backgrounds that give advantages to certain skill sets. It takes place in a world of magic that is entering an industrial age. This is a world where technology & magic do not mix well. Basically anything you can do magically you can find a way to do with technology. For example after reaching higher levels a magic character may teleport anywhere on the continent or at a fairly low levels a tech character could take a train to a limited number of scattered locations. At higher levels a magic character could raise the dead. At medium levels a tech character can Dr. Frankenstein that ****. A magic character could caste instant death spells or use devastating enchanted weapons. Tech characters can use or even create automatic rifles and flamethrowers. I personally find that following the path of dark necromancy is the very fastest way to reach the level cap, especially if the background 'pact with a demon' is chosen. The game also has a rather well written and engaging main story.
