Okay this was a movie I saw on Tubi, but only the beginning of it because it was about a year or two ago when I first found out about the site.
Basically the movie opens at a convention. All the main characters are still regular humans. It was some fantasy or cosplay convention. Maybe even comiccon. I didn't get far in the movie (which is why I want to see the rest of it), but the description said these characters were going to acquire superpowers soon. Can't remember what the description how they acquire their powers though. Two things worth noting about this movie.

1. It was fairly recent. I remember the date on the movie was from the last 10 years or so. So we're not talking about the 2000s or earlier. More recent than that.
2. It was one of Tubi's low budget indie movies, so it's not any movie that's been noteworthy as far as mainstream is concerned.
3. Obviously it took place in modern time since it opened at a modern convention. They might end up in some fantasy world later on, but setting at the beginning of the movie is modern times.
   Anyone has any idea what movie this might've been?
