There is a big difference between autistic and mentally retarded. He took the character into full on retard mode and was such a dumb character. Quinten was interesting and they squandered it.

The Cop should have been the final survivor, but the writer chickened out and gave us that nonsense woke bull crap.

I liked the ending, but the acting could be better, especially the black cop.

Some should be left alone. I hated the Pet Sematary remake, but loved IT. I have a couple gripes with it, but it's overall better than the 1990 TV miniseries.
Sometimes They Come Back should be left alone. That one scene with the face freaked me out as a kid, and I'd get scared ro ride in the car at night because of it.

I feel that way about all of the 90s Stephen King movies including It. It would be nice if they could all get a high quality updated version like It got.

I liked it as a kid who didn't know any better and like it now for nostalgia and its story, but it's really dated now, and never was good quality.
It can be improved.
