Top Gun: Maverick - I honestly had no idea I'd like this one as much as I did. Was the only movie that I saw twice in theaters so far. Shit was just an amazing experience and appealed to the kid in me that dreamt of being a pilot.

The Northman - Honestly couldn't see any movie supplanting this one at #1. Figured it'd still be there by the end of the year. While I liked Top Gun more (just slightly), this one was a much better movie.

The Batman - Seemed this one rubbed a few of you ***** the wrong way. I forgive you for that. But as a guy who's been a Batman fan since he was 3, this was everything I could want in a Batman movie.

Everything Everywhere All at Once - A lot of **** happened in this one and all of it was great. Amazing how none of it felt incomplete and the pacing never felt rushed.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie - I know none of you have heard of this. It's a prequel movie for an anime series called Jujutsu Kaisen. Shit ****in slapped so hard.

Nope - Not a particularly well-made movie, but there was a lot that worked, and I had a pretty good time. Like I said in that Nope thread, the camerawork/cinematography was excellent.

Bullet Train - Dug it quite a bit. Like with Nope, I was sufficiently entertained by it, even though the movie wasn't what I'd call well-made. Had a lot of cartoonish ultraviolence and fun characters, and I just dug its style.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - The movie was better than the average MCU film. Seeing Sam Raimi get to go full Raimi in an MCU movie was satisfying. The writing was pretty **** and some of the performances seemed phoned-in.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent - Some pretty funny moments, some that fell flat. Pedro Pascal stole the movie. The movie was a waste of potential.

Thor: Love and Thunder - another movie that wasted its potential. Honestly didn't like it much except for certain scenes and Christian Bale as Gorr.
I'd include Jackass Forever to give the list a nice round ten, but I can't consider that a movie so much as it was an hour and a half long reunion episode. Next up is probably Bullet Train.
Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am the honored one.

I agree with the next 3 though, same order.
Doctor Strange blah blah was a lot of fun too, flawed script but visuals and pacing were solid as.

I have only seen one movie this year and it was Dune. It was quite good.
But it’s weird come to think of it. It’s like I don’t really care about movies that much anymore. And **** knows when I went to a theater the last I time. Might start doing it when my son get a little older.
But Corona kinda killed that vibe when movie theaters closed and it just hasn’t come back.
I’m sorry for this monologue you really wasn’t asking for.
Thats it, I’m going to clown college

Didn't think it was, I was just going by "that you've seen so far" this year. My bad.
Although I did see the first one before this year, come to think of it. Saw the second one this year, good stuff.
That's the most I can give you for this year, I'm afraid as, like I said, I'm more or less avoiding recent Hollywood stuff like the plague right now after its consistently abysmal record over the past few years.
Actually, I can give you one for this year: Firestarter, based on a Stephen King novel.

1: A Quiet Place
2: Northman
3-10: All other **** put out by Hollyweird over the past few years.
Hollywood is so horrifically awful in recent years that I've all but stopped watching modern Hollywood ****e and am sticking to classics, mostly delving into older foreign cinema. When I do watch something recent it's usually not Hollywood - Bollywood seems to be doing an alright of filling the void right now. RRR and Brothers are the two most entertaining ones I've seen recently.

Yeah, heard that **** gets really weird in the third act. Probably would've put me off from watching it a few years ago, but after all the weird anime I've checked out in the past few years that I surprisingly liked, I'd probably vibe with this film's wavelengths.

Jurassic World wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, but I will admit I forgot every second of it the moment I left the theater.
Men was just a little TOO weird to be enjoyable. I did appreciate the shout-out to Cernunnos, though.
