83 percent on RT, I guess that’s promising.

An incredible yawner. Poor casting. On the positive side, Zendaya provides her usual performance. Terrible.
It looked nice. But nothing else. The score was completely forgettable.
Another big budget boring film. There seem to be a lot of them in recent years.

Can RT be trusted? Sometimes their reviews are garbage.

It’s currently at 86%. Doesn’t really matter what percent it gets. Oftentimes critics are wrong about a movie and the score really only measures the percentage of positive reviews something gets anyway. So if a movie gets a 91% but the average rating a movie gets is something like 7.5/10 or 6.5/10, then that movie likely isn’t really as good as its percentage would lead someone to believe. Plus, every now and then a review will actually be more negative than positive but gets counted as a positive because of some algorithm or whatever and that affects the percentage a movie gets.
Dune’s got an 8.1/10 so far. Blade Runner 2049 had a similar score; as did Arrival and Sicario. With the amount of reviews in so far, I think we have a good enough sample size to determine the score isn’t going to change much when the rest of the reviews come out.
So, in closing, this movie is going to be excellent. Mark my words.
I live. I die. I live again.
