Posting a url will convert it into a clickable link automatically.
To make links with custom text like

Images:
Host your image on a site like imgur or tinypic. If you hot-link images from other sites they might not show up.
Then you need a url or link for your image that ends in a standard image format, such as .jpg, .gif, or .png, like this:

This creates a clickable link so that people may view the image directly by clicking on it.
If you want to embed the image into the post, enclose the link in image tags:
You can do this several ways. You can type the codes yourself, or you can use the 'Image' button. I usually copy and paste the image url, highlight the link with the mouse, and then hit the Image button, which encloses it in image tags. You can also start by hitting the 'Image' button, which inserts the tags, and then copy and paste the direct link to the picture between the tags.

Youtube Videos:
Copy and paste a url to a youtube video into a post, and it will display automatically for users who have set their user settings to display videos.
If you want to skip ahead to a specific part in a video, you must go there and hit pause, then right-click and select "Copy video URL at current time", then paste the link, like this:
The ?t=80 code means the video will begin playing at the 1:20 mark, or 80 seconds in.
