Good review.
I found the cancer thing disturbing and it made me feel sorry for the poor guy when he saw how it was a sham.
Going all that way for his last thread of hope.
Actually, there was somewhat of a cure or more natural treatment found.
There were clinics all across the country with this homeopathic wonder.
When the founder wouldn't play ball with the FDA they shut him down and he moved his clinic to Mexico where it still is today treating cancer patients.
Max Gail, Wojo from Barney Miller, narrates this excellent documentary about the Hoxsey cure, which I do not believe to be a scam.
Another movie I would recommend.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0175753/
If you cannot find a copy of it then here it is on YT where you would have to overlook the VHS picture.
I shall rewatch it from here:
"Please vote to preserve the unique character of Warren…" - Robert Duvall

Yeah, he wasn't a likeable person back then. This may be the biggest reason to discount Jim Carrey's performance. Nobody but Carol Kane from Taxi attended his funeral.

I loathed this movie. I loathed Any Kaufman.
If you can’t say something nice, say something clever but devastating.

I can see why The Mask. But I think it's the makeup and perhaps a bit too much CGI. When it comes to Man on the Moon, he was 100% immersed into Andy Kaufman. No acting tricks. That's more impressive to me.

Great Review,
Which I agree is a ten,
But I dont think it’s his Best Film.
That is Universally Accepted,
It’s The Mask!
Without strife, you do not advance.
Without strife, there is only stagnation.
