I've seen Mel Smith in Princess Bride and Twelfth Night, and loved him in both. What's he up to now? I see he directed a movie in 2003, but there isn't much beyond that. Will he be in any more movies soon?
I'd also like to say that if Robbie Coltrane quits playing Hagrid in the Harry Potter series, they should cast Mel Smith in his place. He's the only other actor I could picture as Hagrid.

Sad. Collin's Sandwich had to be one of the most well written and well performed sitcom's of the decade. And yet sorely under-appreciated. Given the nature of the program one could see them doing at least a few episodes each year (ala AbFab). There were only a few easily replaceable characters and sets that could have been stored or replaced.
But alas it was not to be and the opportunity is lost forever. We will never know what Collin's Sandwich could have been we only know what it was, a fine performance.
Thank you for the laughs, Mel Smith. RIP, RIP.
