Definitely Brenda

Definitely Lynn. You could tell she was kind of like the mediator of the family. She is trying to appease Doug, her siblings and her parents all at once. Instead of constantly complaining (like her sister) she tries to find the good in any situation. Hell
she even sacrifices herself in a vain attempt to help save her family from the mutants.
Oh and she is smoking hot too!

Brenda was a rather realistic character and very memorable. Both Brenda and Lynn ng as horrifying scenes that made me have to look away from the screen.

I don't think Brenda was very bitch-y actually, all she did was make a snarky comment now and then but she was pretty normal. With that said though, I loved both characters. I always hate when Lynn dies in the trailer I would have rather Doug or Bobby died in her place).

All I'm saying is, if I was one of those mutants, I would've sucked those titties too. End.of.story.

Anyway, back to my point: Brenda was a bitch and if I was her mother I would have slapped the beep out of her for complaining on their 25th anniversary. All she did was complain the whole time.
That's kinda why I liked her. She
was
bitchy and she's the kind of character I'd write off right away, so it was a genuine surprise that she lived. Plus, watching her go through hell and get stronger and fight back was more interesting to me. It also helps that she had a lot more to do than Lynn did (though I liked her a lot as well) I also thought Emilie's performance was more compelling

I feel like you guys are favoring Brenda only because she survived being raped and watched her family die. I like the fact that they killed Lynn in that fashion as it was simply shocking. I remember being in the theater rooting for the baby to get killed too just to see how far the director/writer would take it. Anyway, back to my point: Brenda was a bitch and if I was her mother I would have slapped the beep out of her for complaining on their 25th anniversary. All she did was complain the whole time. Lynn was a boss and I feel like if she didn't get killed, but they had still taken her baby, she would have went nuts like the chick from descent and could have done what her punk husband wasn't presumed to be built for. Also, she was very cool and calm when that mutant was sucking her tit while holding a gun to her baby. So, in short, I favor Lynn and Brenda can go to hell.
Also, what the hell makes you guys think Brenda matured? All she did was survive and cry for the remainder of the ordeal. If I was her I probably would have been the same way, but I don't know where you guys got this idea of maturity from. So what she was being "a typical teenager", it's pretty well established that teenagers on a whole suck.

Lynn , although I had seen the original I was still shocked when she died , I got the vibe she would be the protagonist in this version, but for modern audiences killing her in such a brutal manner it really upped the ante . The girl next to us had tears during the whole trailer attack scene . I have to say all three of the Carter Ladies were very attractive though .

Lynn was very sweet and like mentioned before, Brenda acted like most teenagers are expected to act.
But, she matured a great deal and I think would grow into a fine woman and a wonderful aunt.

lol well i don't think she wanted to commit suicide its just at that moment she just wanted to die, her mother, sister and dad died and she thought at that time she was getting dragged out the trailer life isn't worth living nomore
she wanted them to kill her at that moment but later on when they were gone she didn't want to die she wanted to get out of there.
and i got that "shot him" bit she was screaming when she was getting dragged out but when he took the gun out she instantly grabbed onto it and i swear i can her hear saying "shoot, shoot" and bringing the gun closer to her face, maybe i misinterpreted it wrong. that's how it looks to me.

Actually, if you watch closely - preferrably with subtitles on - you'll see that Brenda has noticed Bobby and Doug's approach. She's screaming at

. The subtitles read "shoot him, shoot him". Bobby had a gun too, remember? However, I can definitely understand why someone would interpret it the way you did. As for Brenda being petrified with fear afterwards, no one can blame her for that.
I will say this, though - if Brenda wanted to commit suicide, she could have easily done so with the weapon that her family still had.

I never said that Brenda got away scot-free, only that her survival over Lynn's surprised me (due to horror movie stereotyping). There's no doubt that Brenda had the most traumatizing ordeal out of all the Carters, based on the points you just made. She was definitely the character I felt the most sympathy for. I disagree that she wanted to die, though - she was clearly struggling when Lizard held the gun to her head. Yes, according to script she was seventeen at the time. I too took the blood on her legs as a sign that she'd lost her virginity. Poor thing

even though Lynn died, Brenda had it worse
i mean, she was beaten, raped and then had to watch her family die, and at the end she wanted to die but she didn't, and she had to live in fear for the rest of the night, where as Lynn died straight away and didn't have to suffer more. because of that, it made me like Brenda more, i mean, getting attacked in bed by deformed men all alone is pretty fu-kin' scary
and the fact that she was young lol like 17, probs was a virgin judging from the blood on her legs/thigh.

Glad to see that I'm not alone on this! I think that Brenda is probably one of the most realistic characters in the movie. A lot of people label her a spoiled brat, but I disagree. What teenager

act like that if they were forced to spend time away from their friends? And it isn't as if she threw a tantrum every five minutes. The worst thing Brenda did was make a snarky comment now and then.
I was actually surprised when Lynn was killed the first time I watched the movie. The typical horror formula would've made her the heroine and Brenda - being the "hot blonde" - a murder victim. As sad as Lynn's death was, having Brenda survive over her broke the clich.

I sympathize with both girls, but relate to Brenda more. I think it's because we're around the same age and I could see myself reacting in similar ways that she did. Still, I wish that Lynn hadn't died.
