A lot of these series seem to crap out after two or three seasons.

I knew that was coming because I'd read some of the comics. Didn't continue with those till the end. Enough to know the show version is the tame version.
But none of it beats Crossed.
Yeah s3 was when I quit Lost. The moment they started "moving the island".

I quit watching The Walking Dead after Glenn’s death.

Well to be fair, it was pretty highly acclaimed so it was worth the time gamble.
I should have given up on The Walking Dead loooong before the show ended. That wasn't time well spent. I did give up on Lost at JUST the right time though. My boyfriend is currently wishing he had. But he's now at that point of "well, watched this far, might as well see how it ends".

I don't mind dystopian but the vibe of this one just annoyed me before I watched any of it (the trailer was enough).

First two seasons were good, but then it got really stupid. Seemed to focus on Elisabeth Moss’s prolonged facial emoting. I stopped after season 4.

And his excuses. When you see what the final straw was, you'lm also want to throw something qt the screen.
As for Handmaiden-ish, wouldn't know. Can't bring myself to watch that series.
