I think this particular sequel does the best job of recapturing the sterling scary atmospheric quality of the original, so yep it's definitely the best of the Halloween sequels.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

I myself consider the 2nd Movie to be the Best Sequel although I am definitely a Fan of the 4th Movie.

well it's essential to this series and it's what saved this series. that being said it's a pretty by the numbers, and ordinary slasher movie. nothing spectacular or great or extraordinary about it.
i just heard that a nightmare on elm street part 3: dream warriors saved that series. and i have to agree bc they couldn't make the movies like the way the first 2 are in order to continue the series and it's an epic and classic film which part 2 isn't.
h4 save this series bc they needed a great film to bring this series back on track after the to a lot of people disappointing part 3.
plus it had been five years since part 3 and 7 years since part 2 the last with myers so this was big in just getting a new h movie released in theaters.

exactly part 2 is the best never understood the hate for part 2 on here anyway. bc it has more action than part 1 and basically is just part 1 but i think better and more interesting. so in the same way that friday the 13th part 2 is better and is just a better part 1 halloween part 2 is those 2 things.

no h20 is awesome and a great, epic, return to actually a scary halloween movie form. a return to the way that the first movie is. it was such a beautiful tribute to the original.
but yes part 5 i remember even as a like 12 year old sucked big time. it was horrible and so cliche and bad slasher movie like. part 6 was even worse than part 5. and resurrection was so bad i can't believe jamie lee was in it it was so bad that i don't even count it as a film in this series bc it's not in she same league of quality of any other film in this series. it's a b bad horror movie.

It has Haddonfield, Chase scenes through the neighborhood, a nice escape plan, likeable characters and a creepy vibe through out.

I'm biased because 4 was the first one I'd seen in theaters. That being said, it's definitely better than the ones that came out after it, 5 was too soon, 6 was too late, H20 was too Scream and 8 was too awful.
