<p dir="auto">But it lasts for nearly 4 hours and revolves around a middle-aged woman doing  housework. I am not joking, you literally watch this woman wash dishes and peel Steve Lakes for 4 hours.<br />
I don't understand how a movie which is objectively a choir to sit through can be considered the best of all time. It is also strange that Jeanne Dielmann went from being ranked #50 to #1 in 10 years. I suspect the voters really wanted #1 ranked movie to be directed by a woman.</p>

<p dir="auto">I wouldn’t rank it anywhere close to the top of my list but I was never bored by it - I’m not sure how, but watching her clean the kitchen was somehow strangely riveting. A beautiful slice of life with a dark heart.</p>
