DirecTV :: TiVo vs. Genie? Programming features?
I really like to hear from someone who switched from TiVo to Genie on DirecTV, what was your experience?
CURRENTLY using THR22-100 the HD TiVo Receiver from DirecTV.
CONSIDERING switch to Genie.
If TiVo is a much more intelligent assistant, we will keep it.
Using TiVo for more than 10 years, the programming features and the UI are great.
TiVo Pros:
I often DEPEND on TiVo for these helpful features ::
Season Pass Manager prioritizing of series, and finding alternative times that fit We have over 90 shows and series in the Season Pass Manager on TiVo and it's easy to setup new shows, remove unwanted shows, or change priorities. Whenever a conflict occurs, if an episode is shown more than once, TiVo can automatically find any alternate slots, and record the lower priority show at a different time.
Wishlist saved searches (actor, category, director, keyword) is a big help.
TiVo Suggestions assists with finding similar movies or shows, sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't.
Cons:
TiVo has only two receivers, frequent conflicts.
Questions:
Does the DirecTV Genie have features anything like the priority-based season passes, the wish list, the suggestions, or other handy TiVo programming features?
