It seems clear that their words, like Roberts', were directed at the IDF as an institution and not the individual personnel. In fact, that was clear prior to their clarification.

Again, I have no problem with what either of them said. I support people's right to free speech even when that speech is reprehensible. I'm merely pointing out hypocrisy.

We're getting away from the point, which is that Andrew Roberts gleefully calls for the mass extermination of his fellow Brits and, ostensibly, some Scots and (Northern) Irish as well. As a free speech absolutist, I'm not calling for him to be punished, as reprehensible as his words are.
