More like it did not get traction with the Emmy voters because NBC did not take the show seriously as evidenced by the scheduling. The networks/channels are responsible for putting up their shows for nomination, and I think providing the show for Emmy viewing as well. I apologize if I was unclear or mislead you by that comment.

Are you saying that the Emmy voters didn't vote for it just because of its scheduling?

The show was brilliant and cleverly written,(and a critical darling BTW) but it flew under the radar. NBC was notorious for starting then rescheduling the season. It was always questionable if it was going to actually be on or not - "this summer, no October, no half season". And as an aside, they always put it on the other side of big bang theory! So no Emmy voters even had a chance to vote on it, because of its irregularity in scheduling.
There was a reason Yahoo bought the show to finish it out, and for once it was not the money. They thought the art deserved its due, and it did, and it was great!

That show was poorly written and incredibly stupid.

It was more of a cult hit, then a critics hit.
