Prior to this phone, I've had bad luck with phones.
I've never upgraded a working phone for a newer model before. I'm not against it; it just never came up. Besides this one, something always happened to my phone in time.
I left my iPhone 5S in my swimming trunks at Panama City Beach when I sat in the hot tub. This was the first day of my trip so sadly I missed out on pictures. I bought the 6 Plus when I got back. This was back in 2014.
I dropped my Galaxy on the Mizen Head bridge while taking a picture. It went black at never turned on back on. So for the last week of that trip, I didn't get pictures. Fortunately, I was able to get it fixed to get the pictures off of it - then it died again. I ended up getting my money back for the repair, even though I had already transferred the Ireland and London pics to desktop. Win/win.
Prior to this, I had an iPhone 4C. This was my first official long-term phone. This was stolen when I was with my then-girlfriend at a nightclub. At this time I did not have the passcode in my phone. So the guy who stole it had access to some naughty pics. I was pretty down in the dumps when this happen.
Prior to that, I was a teenager or something. I had Motorolas and Blackberries that that the prepaid card but I don't really count those.
I think I waited too long for the upgrade. I kept holding out and holding out. I wanted my pictures transferred to my phone. I held out too long and now it's dead. Hopefully I can get it fixed to get the pictures off of it.
But this phone, I bought an Otter lifeproof case the first day, and the body is still in mint condition.
I remember when I first got this, and I thought how great the camera quality was. Now I take pictures, and I think it looks awful.
So, it kicked off by itself and it didn't kick back on. It's just old. So we know now that iPhones if used daily will have a 11 year lifespan.
So tomorrow, new phone for me. iPhone 17 Pro.
Never lose your desire.

So it’s part of Apple’s newest lineup released this Sept :
17 series phone
Air phone
Where the 17 is basically a better version of the 16 and prior models, The iPhone air is Apple’s attempt at something different. Basically the Air is super thin and light. It feels like you’re holding nothing. That’s the main appeal, and by no means do I mean to downplay what an attractive appeal that is: the phone is ****ing amazing.
So it’s:
0.2” thick
165 grams in weight
Has a new chip that makes it lightning fast
Amazing screen
Super tough
Better battery than the 16
Downsides:
Horrible speaker (just one speaker) compared to 17
Worse batter than 17
Only one camera so can’t to wide view with pics
Basically the air is idea if you scroll a lot on your phone, not if you’re like doing heavy gaming or video editing.
On paper, the 17 is superior. But The Air wins vs 17 in your hands when you actually compare the two. It’s night and day. Where you’re upgrading from such an old model tho, you can’t go wrong either way.
Stop.

Haven't heard of it. Is it a superior model to the 17 Max? Cost-wise? Is it a model of the 17 series?

I’ve just upgraded to the Air. Have you tried it? It’s unlike any phone I’ve ever used

Wow!
You really got your money's worth there!
I only had my last phone for four years. It only had
16 gigs
of memory, so I had to replace it. The new phone has
256 gigs
of memory. For the math challenged, that's
16 times as much.
