I have an inside source who tells me Rockstar have decided to move away from video games production to focus on developing slot machines for casinos and mobile apps.
The move was inspired by Konami's 2015 shift toward pachinko machines and mobile gaming.
The decision was actually made a few years ago with GTA 6 originally being scheduled to be their last ever game.
However they have recently decided not to complete the game and are slowly delaying the official release date until they can come up with a public statement that won't cause riots OR until AI technology becomes so advanced they can just generate the game with a few lines of text.
Either way development officially halted in late 2023.
