He understands English. It's so wild.
My neighbour got a few new cats, and there's one sunbathing in my driveway. My dog knew something, or someone, was afoot as he excitedly darted around the living room. He ran to the side window to look out, wagging his tail, finding nothing. I told him, "She's out front. Look out the front window." And just like that, he trots over to the front window and looks out to see this beautiful all white kitty charging her battery in the solar rays of my driveway. (My driveway is like a magnet for cats). He stood there, gazing at the white kitteh and wagging his tail excitedly. No fuss, just curiosity.
But he understood, man! Too weird.
I'm convinced that you don't have a dog.
But your Chicka-Mod will move your Lala-thread to Pets and Animals.

I would not be shocked if years of dogs and humans bonding has wrote a bit of understanding into their genetics ( somewhat I mean ), but are you sure it was not just coincidence? lol perhaps he was just about to go to that window anyway and you just happen to say it?

Totally! I definitely agree with you about this. My dog knows when I spell things out (in particular P-A-R-K when I'm just chattering but we're not going to the park that day). His ears will perk up. He definitely knows a lot of different words. I've never formally trained him, just rewarded him for getting things right.
They definitely pick up body language, and yes, it's very cool! He knows when I'm anxious, or not feeling well, and he always checks in on me. Also, if I sleep in "too late" on the weekends (ie: between 5-7am are his usual hours), and he'll nuzzle me until I finally get out of bed. The goal was just to get me out of bed as he jumps right back up there and goes back to sleep. He's a man on a mission.

Dogs understand more human language than they let on. Not only simple words like sit, lay down quiet, but also from our body language and intonation. It’s so cool how they pick up on things.
