Most of the time, I don't, and it's often hard to stay asleep once I become aware, but it's great when I have full control. There have also been times when I was aware, but didn't have control, likenthis one time, I tried ro wake up, but couldn't. Almost freaked out in the dream, but distracted myself with something mundane, like noticing a shop.
One of my first lucid dreams, at least that I remember was in my teens, and it was kinda like the training scenes in Highlander. Sean Connery was teaching me how to do cool ****.

There's a method that allows you to initiate them. The goal is "mind awake, body asleep". Some people think it's actually astral projection. I practiced it a while back, and had some interesting experiences, but gave it up because it always left me feeling tired the next day. Definitely something to try if you're into lucid dreaming, though.

I always wake up moments after I gain awareness so I don't get excited over it when it happens.
I just take drugs if I want to experience flying.

I would have thought anything was possible in a dream. And some people used to call this 'control' remote viewing! I have had dreams where I am in control of it, and was able to move around in any direction like it was a 3d model and I was operating the built-in camera, which I later found on the internet and had a go at. Moreover, certain controlled dreams that I have had would have me speaking to some men outside the CIA's headquarters and their telling me that I can only go in so far. Surely that was a dream, yes, for they would not be able to transmit a remote viewing session across the Atlantic to little old me in my bed.
I have had lucid dreams like I had taken too much LSD, my mind all over the place and moving quickly.
I have also heard voices while lucid dreams were happening, someone saying my name which woke me up from it. And I sometimes woke to a loud buzz which at first I assumed was someone transmitting it to my head, but later came to realise was my mind somehow tuning in to the building's entry door buzzer when someone pressed it at a certain time, albeit when I was naturally waking up.
I like making slideshow movies, see

Ok nerd.
The commonly held name for it is lucid dreaming. I didn't ask what you thought of the semantics. I asked whether you dream in that way.

You can’t be conscious inside your own subconscious. It’s a contradiction in terms.
Having a dream where you control the dream is still just a dream.
