They are the most sensible voters. In humans there is always a tendency to blindly follow, which we have seen throughout history with horrific results, like with the rise of Hitler in the 1930s. We aren't seeing anything near that alarming today, but we have seen the same process take place over the past 20 years in the United States where as both parties have drifted to greater extremes, many people have shifted their views to follow. Moderates have shown they are the ones who stick to their beliefs and don't follow the crowd.
