I'm in my last semester in film school. I'm required to shoot at least two 16mm projects. Renting the camera would cost about as much as buying it on eBay.
Do you think that film will last long enough that shooting other short films on the Bolex would be beneficial? Do you think a Bolex in particular would be beneficial? Or should I not waste my money on it?
My school has Bolex'. It's the 16mm camera we learn everything on.

You can probably get a cheap Bolex (Rex-3, Rex-4) for short-term use, and then pass it on again through ebay. I'm thinking cameras like that just go through the student circuit these days.
