The bed sores, manual pooping, inability to register pain which sends your body into uncontrollable spasms, incontinence, muscle wasting, and inability to move without assistance is enough to make me choose blindness over paralysis. People can live a fairly normal life with blindness. With paralysis you are totally dependent on someone else unless you're a paraplegic.

If you can’t even use your hands during paralysis, then that’s easily worse in comparison to being blind. You can still be successful if you’re visually impaired.

Being blind would be worse. Even if you can move you can't really move around much since you can't see where you are going so you might as well be paralyzed.
